Happy Thanksgiving From Our Family

This morning as I cracked open the door to my boys’ room and looked in before closing it quietly behind me, I could see two tousled heads peeking out from under the covers, little bodies piled high with blankets. I flicked on the switch to the coffeepot and padded into the living room to find Dawson, our 5-year-old pup curled up on a chair, his body illuminated under the glowing twinkle of the mantle. As I open my bible and settle into the couch, I can see the flickering lights of the city across the river and mist rising up over the orchard outside our house…and I am grateful.

Grateful for these small, seemingly unremarkable blessings, because I know many are battling for normal today.

As we go about our day, instead of focusing on what we don’t have, what we need to do, or how to handle family dynamics at the dinner table (ahem), may we pause and soak in our blessings, in this season, right where we are.

Wishing you all the peace, joy, and love today…Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!
