Back-to-School Series

Friends, it’s a real battle some days to get those munchkins out the door to school before the bell. Most of the time our September game is strong, but by mid-November, we start to fizzle. Maybe we accidentally sleep in. Then we start packing lunches the morning of, then it’s a full on writing picture day checks, filling out permission slips, and throwing cheese sticks and apple sauces in lunch boxes the morning of—frenzy. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can just stop reading right here.

There are one hundred and one steps involved in getting our kids out the door on any given day and let’s be honest, some mornings the odds are stacked against us. Yes—picture day/library day/bring your dog to school day, all rolled into one day—I’m talking about you.

However, none of us want our kids to remember school mornings always feeling rushed and frazzled with Mom barking orders. In fact, that is the opposite of how I want our mornings to feel. If you want to start the year with peace, order, and joy, it will require a little effort and organization, but I promise it’s worth it.

We’re going to take the next few weeks to focus on Back-to-School in hopes of sending those sweet ones off well and if you are a homeschool mama, these tips can make your homeschool life just a little easier.
